◊ Made from Tobacco Oak
◊ Original textured face sanded & finished
◊ Fits artwork of dimensions you select
◊ Constructed to last decades
◊ Saw tooth hanger for easy hanging
◊ All distressings are natural & common
◊ Each picture frame is unique
◊ This frame is made from wood which was mostly salvaged from tobacco drying barns in Kentucky. We preserve most of the original saw marks and/or weathering on the board and sand it just a bit then apply a slightly tinted hard wax oil hand-rubbed finish
◊ This MadMoose Picture Frame is sized to fit the selected size of photo, print or matting up to .75” thick—the outside dimensions are approximately 4" larger each direction than the selected frame size.
◊ The boards are Reclaimed Oak milled to approximately 2" wide and about 1" thick-the original texture is maintained on the face only; all other faces may have been remilled.
◊ The Oak will show off signs of previous use such as color variation, nail holes, insect tracks, knots, open knots, staining, saw marks & weathering, size variation, etc—differences in this character will make each frame unique.
◊ The wood is finished with a hand-rubbed hard wax oil finish with very low VOCs and once cured, entirely non-toxic.
◊ The joints are glued with hidden splines, which is more similar to fine furniture than to traditional picture frames.
◊ We attach saw tooth hangers with screws making for easy hanging in both portrait and landscape configurations.
◊ Includes glass or ⅛” thick clear acrylic (plexiglass) depending on size.
◊ Includes a ¼” thick plywood backer board.
◊ The backer board is held firmly in place with spring clips [as shown in last photo].
◊ Each frame is individually crafted and signed on the back by the artisan who created it.
